Welcome!
In Scandinavian countries, such as Finland and
Norway, log houses were built for more than 800 years. Today we
find several vestiges which were preserved in a remarkable way.
Their technique of construction has remained the same for several
centuries and was transmitted from generation to generation.
The Scandinavian technique is one of oldest
and it allows the erection of the most solid and the most beautiful
log construction. With time, this technique crossed the oceans to
be used by some craftsmen throughout the world. The solidity and
the durability of these structures fit well with the North American
climate. Today the Scandinavian technique has been adapted, established
and recognized in American architecture.
The crew of CanLog specializes in the full scribe
Scandinavian method. Our craftsmen use the traditional tools to
produce the most beautiful log homes.
Each log is individually adjusted by hand
using a transfer log scribe.
Each log is cut, grooved and assembled with great care and knowledge.
The technique we use the most for the corners is the round notch.
But we could use the saddle notch to build your dream house
